World-renowned Wu Pao Chun Bakery begins a new chapter with a brand new store at Holland Village! Celebrated for its award-winning breads and refined craftsmanship, Wu Pao Chun at Holland Village welcomes both longtime fans and first-time visitors to discover the artisanal excellence behind every bake.

The opening marks a strategic move for the brand and brings Wu Pao Chun’s world-class creations to a location that caters to a diverse base of international visitors and local residents. With its blend of cosmopolitan energy and diverse community, the vibrant enclave of Holland Village makes it an excellent location for Wu Pao Chun’s artisanal offerings.

This milestone opening is also a continued tribute to the vision of founder and Master Baker Wu Pao Chun (吴宝春), whose guiding philosophy, “Exploring Bread, a way of seeing the world” (我喜欢,以面包阅读世界), finds fresh expression in this dynamic new setting.

THE FIRST-EVER ASIAN WHO WON CHAMPION
Master Baker Wu Pao Chun’s exceptional skill and innovative approach to bread-making has garnered international recognition. Notably, his mastery of traditional techniques combined with creative vision earned him the championship at the 2010 Masters de la Boulangerie, where he became the first-ever Asian World Bread Masters individual champion. In 2016, Wu Pao Chun was honoured as World Baker of the Year by the Union of International Bakers and Confectioners (UIBC).

Wu Pao Chun’s approach extends beyond conventional baking. To deepen his understanding of bread, he studied cooking, art, music, wine tasting, and microbiology to perfect fermentation techniques. This comprehensive methodology has shaped his distinctive style and the exceptional quality of his creations.

THE LEGENDARY CHAMPION BREAD
The bakery’s two champion breads continue to showcase Master Wu Pao Chun’s innovative spirit that earned him international acclaim

12 Months to perfect the recipe, 15 Hours of dough rising and 3 Nights of soaking in lychee wine. The Lychee Rose Royale 荔枝玫瑰 ($24.80) took home the 2010 Masters de la Boulangerie championship with its aromatic loaf that weaves together the sweetness of wine-soaked lychee, the pleasing crunch of roasted walnuts, and the elegant floral notes of dried rose petals.

Each Red Wine Longan 酒酿桂圆 ($24.80) is a work of art and stands as Wu Pao Chun’s first globally-recognised bread, debuting at the 2008 Louis Lesaffre Cup. Infused with red wine-soaked longan and walnuts, the dough is gently smoked over six days to impart extraordinary depth and complexity. Nicknamed the ‘time-travelling bread’, it encapsulates Wu Pao Chun’s dedication to heritage, patience, and flavour in every bite.

FRESH BAKES ON THE BLOCK

The Cranberry Flaxseed 蔓越莓亚麻籽 ($5.20) marries earthy flaxseed with bursts of tart cranberry, creating a hearty loaf with satisfying textural contrast. Meanwhile, the Smokey Cheese Sausage 腌熏芝士香肠 ($3.60) encases perfectly seasoned pork sausage within buttery pastry, crowned with melted smoked cheddar.

Sweet indulgences include the Cottony Macaron 泡芙马卡龙 ($5), a uniquely Taiwanese take on the classic that melts effortlessly on the tongue, and the Cloud Cake 云朵蛋糕 ($15) – an aptly named confection with airy sponge brightened by delicate longan honey.

Three thoughtfully crafted sandwiches offer a spot of everyday indulgence – the Classic Egg Sandwich 鸡蛋沙拉三明治 ($4.20), Tuna & Egg Sandwich 鲔鱼蛋三明治 ($4.20), and Tuna Ham & Egg Sandwich 鲔鱼火腿蛋三明治 ($5), each prepared fresh daily with quality ingredients.
