Indulge in the Art of Chocolate at Tea Lounge, Conrad Singapore Orchard, a seasonal afternoon and high tea in collaboration with Valrhona, from 30 March to 12 July 2026.

Set beneath John Portman’s skylit atrium, Tea Lounge offers a refined setting for a traditional English-style afternoon tea. Guests can enjoy a classic and elegant three-tier presentation featuring delicate finger sandwiches, warm scones served with preserves and cream, and an assortment of pastries, all paired with a curated selection of teas.

For this special edition, fine French chocolaterie Valrhona is thoughtfully woven throughout the menu. Pastries showcase Valrhona’s signature couvertures, including the new Matcha Inspiration, while savoury creations highlight chocolate in unexpected ways, such as a mushroom quiche finished with dark chocolate and served from the trolley. A warm sweet risotto, prepared à la minute, is also available with a choice of chocolate.

The weekday afternoon tea (Monday to Friday, 12pm to 5pm) stays true to tradition, complemented by a unique tea blending ritual developed with homegrown Gryphon Tea Company, allowing guests to create their own blends, alongside teas shaped by local ingredients and preferences.

On weekends, the experience expands into a more indulgent high tea, served in two seatings (12pm–2:15pm and 3pm–5:15pm). This elevated spread reflects Singapore’s diverse dining culture, featuring a wider selection of savoury dishes, local favourites and desserts. The selection extends into warmer, more robust flavours, from laksa and Malaysian beef rendang to satay and roasted meats, with a gravlax bar and live carving served through the afternoon. Chocolate continues through the pastries and desserts, appearing across Valrhona creations and familiar sweets.

Tea, coffee, and Valrhona chocolate served hot or iced are included, with a selection of chocolate-based cocktails available.

We recently visited Tea Lounge at Conrad Singapore Orchard to try the weekday Art of Chocolate afternoon tea, and it turned out to be a lovely, unhurried experience. The space feels bright and airy, making it easy to settle in for a relaxed afternoon. 

The selection leans towards a classic afternoon tea, but with a few thoughtful touches. We enjoyed how the savoury items were light yet satisfying, and the scones arrived warm with a good texture. One standout for us was the quiche, which had a subtle depth of flavour that made it more interesting than expected. The addition of a warm dish during the session also made the overall experience feel more complete and comforting.

As this set is done in collaboration with Valrhona, the chocolate elements were thoughtfully integrated without being overwhelming. The desserts were well-balanced and not overly sweet, with each item offering something distinct. Service was smooth and attentive throughout, and we never felt rushed. Overall, it’s a refined yet approachable afternoon tea, ideal if you’re looking to enjoy something a little special and relax over a leisurely afternoon.
