This July, Green Movement With U returns to UOL Malls for its fourth and most exciting edition yet, showing what a national celebration can look like: playful, meaningful, and planet-friendly. Inspired by Singapore’s 60th birthday, this year’s campaign puts a creative, sustainability-first approach to heritage, and invites families to rediscover the nation’s identity through the lens of sustainability, creativity, and community.
Happening across KINEX, United Square, and Velocity@Novena Square from 18 July to 17 August 2025, this year’s edition carries the special theme: Rediscover. Reuse. Reimagine Singapore. With a playful and purposeful lineup designed for all ages, visitors can look forward to meaningful moments and plenty of Instagram-worthy highlights along the way.
Roving Exhibition: Cardboard Playgrounds That Tell a Story
At the centre of this year’s experience is the SG60 Green Playground, a large-scale, interactive roving exhibition made entirely from recycled corrugated cardboard. Engineered to support up to 150kg and designed to evoke nostalgia and national pride, this one-of-a-kind playground blends iconic elements of Singapore’s past with sustainability.
Explore a life-sized Snakes and Ladders board that traces key national milestones, whizz down an Agar Agar Slide inspired by Singapore’s colourful and multicultural roots. Families can also bounce on a Peranakan See-Saw and spot a nostalgic replica of the iconic Toa Payoh Dragon Playground, a beloved symbol of Singapore’s past. Traditional checkered tables and a photo wall inspired by the MRT map round out the space with uniquely local touches.
A Merlion Made From Pre-Loved Uniforms
In a meaningful collaboration with local social enterprise Circular Classroom, UOL Malls presents Merlion Re: Stitched — a 2.5-metre-tall Merlion sculpture brought to life with donated pre-loved school uniforms, lovingly pieced together into patchwork “scales.”
Visitors are invited to contribute fabric pieces to the sculpture with the help of on-site facilitators, who will guide the process and add finishing touches. The evolving installation serves as a warm and collaborative expression of shared memories, community spirit, and sustainable creativity. Kids can also create their own Merlion-themed bookmarks to take home.
Hands-On Fun and Green Finds for the Whole Family
Keeping the spirit of sustainability alive over four weekends, UOL Malls will be buzzing with weekend Eco Fairs, featuring eco-conscious vendors at each mall. From locally-made lifestyle goods to planet-friendly finds, there’s plenty to explore and bring home.
Families can also enjoy hands-on workshops happening over two weekends at KINEX and United Square. On 2 and 3 August (KINEX) and 9 and 10 August (United Square), little ones can join Frame Your Moments by TreeArt and create photo frames from recycled cardboard, or get crafty in Get Creative with Paracord, designing colourful keychains and accessories. Participate in the workshops with a minimum spend of $60 in same-day combined receipts at United Square or KINEX.
