Violet Oon Singapore at ION Orchard introduces several new additions to its menu from 1 March, welcoming back beloved favourites alongside thoughtfully crafted new dishes that continue the brand’s ongoing celebration of Singapore’s culinary heritage.

Designed for gatherings across generations, the new menu additions also include well-loved, non-spicy classics that make hosting and group dining feel effortless. Highlights span Singapore café classics and Peranakan favourites, bringing together familiar comfort and thoughtful refinement. Additionally, a new dessert trolley will soon make its debut, offering a curated selection of the brand’s indulgent cakes. Available throughout the day, it invites diners to conclude their meal on a sweet note, or linger longer over a slice for an elegant finale to any meal.

Guests can also enjoy dining in the restaurant’s indoor veranda on Level 4, a calm, garden-like retreat tucked away above Orchard Road. Lush and inviting, it is ideal for intimate meet-ups, heartfelt conversations, and lingering lunches or dinners.

New and Returning Additions At Ion Orchard

Singapore Café Classics

Leading the new additions are two beloved dishes from Violet Oon Singapore’s early days at ION Orchard: the Hainanese Pork Chop and Shepherd’s Pie. Together, they pay homage to a distinctive chapter of Singapore’s café culture, shaped by British influences and interpreted through the hands of Hainanese chefs, presented with the relaxed elegance the brand is known for.

The Hainanese Pork Chop also makes a return, featuring deep-fried Kurobuta pork loin crusted with a cream cracker batter, topped with a house-made tomato reduction, and served with steak cut fries and petit pois tossed with minced kale.

The Shepherd’s Pie, a longtime Violet Oon signature since its early days at Takashimaya Food Hall, also makes its return. Slow-braised minced meat is folded into a rich, savoury gravy, crowned with buttery mashed potatoes, and baked until golden.

Peranakan Signatures and Plant-Based Favourites

Another highlight among the new additions is Nyonya Mah Mee, featuring silky noodles wok-tossed with prawns, squid, and pork in a rich broth. Served in the traditional Peranakan way, it comes accompanied by sambal belachan, crispy pork lard, and Mah Mee Rojak, a piquant salad of pineapple and cucumbers. The dish and its accompaniments bring together richness, freshness, and texture in a reflection of the Peranakan culinary philosophy of balance and harmony on the plate.

Other additions include Crispy Kurobuta Pork Fingerlings, juicy pork marinated and deep-fried until crisp, served with Violet Oon’s signature chilli sauce, as well as Nasi Goreng Ikan Bilis, a fragrant wok-fried rice served with egg and crispy ikan bilis.

Also expanding the restaurant’s repertoire of plant-based offerings is the Meatless Meatballs Rendang, a comforting returning favourite. This flavour-forward dish features walnut and cheese morsels braised with aromatic kaffir lime and bay leaves, finished with a creamy spiced coconut rendang sauce.

Violet Oon Singapore Gift Shop

Located adjacent to the restaurant, the Violet Oon Singapore Gift Shop offers a curated collection of gourmet products inspired by Chef Violet Oon’s own recipes and family traditions, allowing guests to extend the dining experience beyond the restaurant and into their homes.

Guests can browse a selection of edible gifts and pantry essentials that showcase Singapore’s flavours and stories. The brand’s signature cookies, including Peanut Cookies and Spice Island Ginger Cookies, come elegantly packaged in Peranakan tile-inspired boxes, while a range of handcrafted jams featuring exotic fruits, along with house-made sambals and condiments, complete the collection.
