This bold move reflects iROO’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible consumption, staying true to the brand’s ethos of creating fashion that’s not only stylish but also environmentally mindful.
A Thoughtful Collaboration: iROO x Wynist Retail Solutions
The store’s striking design is the result of a close collaboration with Wynist Retail Solutions, a Taiwan-based company established in 1999. Known for their progressive approach to sustainable retail fixtures, Wynist helped bring iROO’s green vision to life by incorporating materials like recycled fabric waste into textile boards for furniture, and agricultural waste specifically coffee grounds into the production of hangers.
Other eco-conscious features of the outlet store include:
- Repurposed display furniture made from recycled fabric waste – textile boards
- Repurposed hangers made from agricultural waste (coffee grounds)
- Eco-friendly vinyl floor tiles
- Energy-efficient lighting throughout the space
- Elimination of paper/plastic shopping bags – only reusable bags are offered.
- New collections are introduced weekly in limited quantities, avoiding mass production and minimising fabric waste.
This holistic design approach supports a circular economy, where waste is transformed into usable materials, helping to reduce landfill overflow and the depletion of natural resources.
Promoting Conscious Consumption
Unlike fast fashion retailers that prioritize mass production, iROO embraces a more intentional and sustainable approach by producing limited quantities. New collections are launched weekly, maintaining exclusivity while minimizing overproduction. This mindful strategy encourages customers to value the uniqueness and durability of each piece rather than making impulsive purchases.
Each garment is thoughtfully crafted to ensure longevity and lasting emotional appeal. This approach not only helps reduce fabric waste but also resonates with customers who care deeply about both style and sustainability.
Celebrating Innovation: Grand Opening at IMM
iROO’s grand opening and media launch was hosted by Mediacorp personality Joey Tay (Yu Rong). The event highlighted the brand’s sustainable journey and the creative minds behind the project.
Acclaimed designer Jarrod Lim shared insights into his partnership with Wynist, which began through an unexpected connection via Italian luxury brand Barel. Lim’s work transforms Wynist’s recycled textile boards into beautiful, functional furniture, blending form, function, and sustainability in equal measure.
Joining him was Anthony Ang, Director of Wynist Retail Solutions, who spoke about the company’s evolution from a traditional fixture manufacturer to a forward-thinking business driven by sustainable values. Today, Wynist collaborates closely with designers, brand owners, and government agencies to promote the circular economy across the retail, furniture, and MICE industries.
Gracing the event was Mediacorp Artiste Zoe Tay, who officiated the Grand Opening of the iROO Outlet Store together with Ms. Emily Huang, Chief Operating Officer of iROO.
