This October, Science Centre Singapore invites visitors to explore the strange, surprising and sometimes spooky side of science through Halloween adventures, engaging conversations and immersive experiences.

Leading the month’s highlights is Spookology, an interactive Halloween experience running from 27 October to 1 November 2026. Visitors can also look forward to a special Halloween edition of Science Café, featuring live creepy crawlies and a behind-the-scenes look at horror filmmaking, while the upcoming Glowing Oceans exhibition promises a fascinating encounter with the science of living light.

From investigating the science behind fear to discovering the wonders of the natural world, there is plenty to explore at Science Centre Singapore this season.

Spookology: Discover the Science Behind What Frightens Us

Why do we jump at unexpected sounds? How can an optical illusion trick our eyes? And why can a familiar place suddenly feel different when the lights dim and unusual sounds fill the surroundings?

Running from 27 October to 1 November 2026, Spookology invites visitors to investigate the science behind fear through an interactive Halloween adventure called Glitch in the Web.

The experience begins with a mysterious experiment gone wrong, leaving visitors to take on the role of Community Science Investigators. Armed with an Investigator Case File, participants must gather evidence, follow clues and work through a series of challenges to uncover what happened.

At the heart of the adventure are four Fear Labs, each exploring a different aspect of how we perceive our surroundings: movement, touch, sound and illusion. Through these investigations, visitors can discover how sensory information influences what we see, hear and feel, and how our perceptions can sometimes play tricks on us.

Completing all four Fear Labs unlocks access to a hidden Secret Lab, where the investigation reaches its final challenge: stopping a giant spider within three minutes. Visitors can also look out for hidden spiders around the Centre as part of the accompanying spider hunt.

By combining mystery-solving with scientific exploration, Spookology transforms familiar gallery spaces into an engaging environment for discovery. Instead of simply encountering spooky surprises, visitors are encouraged to observe carefully, question their assumptions and uncover the science behind the unexpected.

The experience offers a different way to approach Halloween, bringing together suspense, problem-solving and scientific curiosity in an adventure designed for visitors aged six and above.
