In celebration of Canada Day on 1 July, award-winning airline Air Canada and Destination Vancouver raised a toast to two years of connecting Singapore and Vancouver with direct flights launched in April 2024.
This year’s celebrations carry exceptional momentum, with Vancouver firmly in the global spotlight as it welcomes visitors from across the world as a proud host city of the exciting global sports tournament. The city was also recently named one of National Geographic’s ‘Best of the World’ destinations for 2026. For Singapore travellers, there has never been a better time to discover what this extraordinary city has to offer.
“For many of us, Canada Day is a moment to reflect on what makes this country truly special: its warmth, hospitality, and diversity,” said Kiyo Weiss, Senior Director of Sales for Asia-Pacific at Air Canada. “Since launching our non-stop Singapore–Vancouver service, we have seen first-hand how Singapore travellers are evolving, seeking deeper, more meaningful experiences. Air Canada is proud to play a role in making Canada and the wider North American continent more accessible than ever for travellers from Singapore and across the region.”
Air Canada also unveiled its new Glowing Hearted long-haul cabin designs that will debut on new Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-10 aircrafts, representing its most significant cabin investment to date. The first major expression of its new Glowing Hearted standard, the design delivers a distinctly Canadian experience, emphasising comfort, care, and connection for all customers on every flight, while signalling the airline’s bold growth ambitions.
Vancouver: A Global City in the Spotlight and Destination for Every Kind of Traveller
With Vancouver in the global spotlight this year, the city continues to captivate travellers from across the globe including Singapore with its appealing combination of global events, vibrant family experiences, rejuvenating wellness offerings and culinary excellence, offering something truly special for every kind of traveller. According to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026 report, 90% of Singaporeans plan to travel the same amount or more in 2026, and increasingly seek purposeful, experience-led journeys. The city is well-positioned to meet this growing appetite.
“Vancouver is a city that captivates in every season, whether you come for its world-class culinary scene, its breathtaking natural landscapes and wellness offerings, or its family-friendly diverse activities and attractions,” said Victoria Leader, Market Manager, International at Destination Vancouver. “As Canada’s premier gateway city and a longstanding partner to Air Canada, we are proud to continue deepening our connections with Singapore, one of Asia’s
most discerning travel markets, and look forward to welcoming more visitors to experience everything Vancouver has to offer across every season.”
For those seeking wellness and rejuvenation, Vancouver is a living laboratory for holistic health, offering forest bathing and yoga at different locations across the city. For foodies, Vancouver has quietly become one of the world’s great culinary cities, from the vibrant Gastown food scene and craft brew experiences to Michelin-starred dining anchored by celebrated chefs such as David Hawksworth, who also curates Air Canada’s award-winning in-flight menu.
For families, Vancouver is a safe, active and endlessly entertaining destination in all seasons. From the Vancouver Aquarium and Science World to the magical festive traditions of the Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain and Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, the city offers multi-generational experiences that create lasting memories for the whole family.
