On 29 September 2025, the Violet Oon Group will open the doors to Bibik Violet, a vibrant all-day Peranakan café and bakery at Temasek Shophouse, the beautifully restored heritage landmark along Orchard Road. Designed as a warm, casual dining spot with wallet-friendly prices, Bibik Violet invites guests to walk in, order conveniently via QR codes, and experience the comforting, colourful flavours of the Peranakan home kitchen without the need for reservations.
A Tribute to the Bibik Spirit
At the heart of this 54-seater café is the Peranakan “Bibik”, the aunty who knows her way around pots, pans, and stories. Bibik Violet is a tribute to that spirit: warm, wise, and always ready with something delicious.
A Home in Temasek Shophouse
Nestled in Temasek Shophouse at 28 Orchard Road, Bibik Violet joins a hub that celebrates both heritage and social impact. This beautifully conserved architectural gem, a century-old building lovingly restored now serves as a dynamic centre for changemakers, fostering collaboration and growth.
Ambience: A Bibik’s Kitchen Reimagined
Tay Su-Lyn, Creative Director, envisioned Bibik Violet as a kitchen filled with warmth and heritage details. The interiors blend warm wood tones, custom rattan furniture, tasselled lamps, and vintage décor, with playful splashes of batik and tropical prints. Heritage lives in the details, from Peranakan tiles salvaged from early 1900s shophouses to Violet Oon’s treasured cookbooks and artefacts. The result is a space that feels both storied and welcoming like visiting a beloved aunty’s home.

Bibik Violet opens on Monday, 29 September 2025 at 8 AM.
From 29 September to 30 November 2025, diners will enjoy 10% off their total bill and a welcome treat (either a cup of Kopi/Teh or Water Chestnut Sugarcane) with every sign up for Bibik Club membership.
On 4 & 5 October 2025, the first 30 customers in line each day will receive a box of Singapore Kopi and a bottle of Traditional Pandan Kaya.
