The number 6 in the title tells us that this is the 6th year the show is running. The previous five editions of this stand-up comedy extravaganza played to sold-out crowds in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Audience can expect to have non-stop laughter at Kings & Queens of Comedy Asia 6 which is debuted as the most anticipated annual stand-up comedy show! It is a hilarious and fabulous show that is not to be missed!
There are a total of five acts in the show. Most of us are familiar with our own talented local drag queen, Kumar who will be the host of the show. Kumar started his career in the now defunct Boom Boom Room in Bugis in the early 90s. In Singapore, he is considered as one of the top stand-up comedians.
Kumar is well known among Singaporeans, Harith Iskander is no stranger in the comedy scene in Malaysia. He is unofficially known as The Godfather of Malaysian comedy because he was one of the earliest artists who performed as a stand-up comedian in company events and functions way before stand-up comedy become popular. For more than a decade, he has performed ‘live’ at countless events and entertained his audience with his unique brand of comedy. Some of us in Singapore would remember him as the big and bald funny actor playing opposite Gurmit Singh in the Phua Chu Kang Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian production spinoff of the highly popular TV series Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd.
The other comedians who will share the stage with Kumar and Harith Iskander is Gina Yashere who is one of UK’s best comedians together with two rising stars of Asian comedy Rishi Budhrani from Singapore and Rizal Van Geyzel from Malaysia.
Judging by the receptions received from the audience from the previous editions “Kings & Queens of Comedy Asia”, we are sure the audience will definitely have a good time enjoying and laughing throughout the show.
