Our Parenting World is invited to partner with The Little Arts Academy (LAA) to be its media partner. Gor Gor has the opportunity to attend its workshops to find out more about LAA.
LAA is managed by The Old Parliament House, offers arts training for children and youths from 6 to 19 years old. It provides training in music (keyboard/guitar), dance (new style/ballet), visual arts and theatre. It is unique because it offers a multidisciplinary arts curriculum for children and the opportunity to showcase and perform. It is also a charity with majority of the children being beneficiaries of The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF). This is a fund that provides fully-sponsored arts training for young people from financially-disadvantaged background.
We find what LAA is doing is very meaningful and readily agreed to be their online media partner and to promote their good work.

LAA campus is brightly decorated filled with colourful and cheerful designs.

The campus is carpeted with shelves filled with storybooks and toys for the kids to play and have fun!

Gor Gor’s first lesson is dancing. This is his first time attending a dance class. In this class, children are taught simple, basic body and dance moves.

Look how much fun the children are having.

Gor Gor enjoys learning from his dance instructor, Mr WanSmoof who is a well-respected choreographer, performer and one of the pioneer members of Styles from Beyond, a leading hip hop dance crew in Singapore.

I am preparing for my Visual Arts lesson now.
We are given an apron to wear to protect us from messing our clothes. Not to worry, the paints used by LAA are non-toxin and washable. You can easily clean them off with just water.

All of us, children are seated and we are taught how to use Pollock’s art techniques which is an abstract expression and we learn how to create our own masterpiece. We have so much fun dripping, splashing and splattering with the paint on the paper.

Yan who is our arts instructor is a Fine Arts graduate from Lasalle College of Arts. She has taught in many schools and continuously participate in arts exhibition.

I am here for my vocal class. It is my first time learning how to sing.

Our vocal instructor is very engaging and he taught us how to sing properly by using the right breathing techniques and controlling our diaphragm.

This is my vocal instructor, Mr Gregory Chen and I enjoy learning from him.

In the meantime, Di Di is having fun at the play area while waiting for Gor Gor to finish class. Once Gor Gor completed his lessons, he came to join Di Di at the play area.

This is the lovely Yasminbee from LAA, thank you for your kind invitation and for having us here.

We would like to thank all the wonderful and dedicated staff of LAA for their devotion and helping the children to excel.
