The highly anticipated Singapore Street Festival 2023 (SSF) is back in full force to engage the youth and the community through various activities, events such as music, street art, sports, dance, JPOP, Cosplay, and competitions. Latest update – registration for street art has been extended till 25th June 2023.

In collaboration with Lendlease, who is celebrating its 50th year of operations in Singapore, the upcoming SSF festival will take place from 7 July to 13 August 2023, spanning across its four malls: 313@somerset, Jem, Parkway Parade, and Paya Lebar Quarter. As part of the festival, an Open Call has been announced for youths to come forward with creative ideas based on the theme ‘Build on our 50 (years) for the next 50 (years)’.    

Moreover, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Street Arts, each of the four malls will host specially curated Street Arts Exhibits.

Whether you love Street soccer, Yo-Yo, Street Art, Belly Dancing, Singing or performing, we would love to have you on board at SSF 2023. This year, there is also a call for school choir groups to perform under ‘Busk It!’ featuring Choral4U.

The official opening of the festival will be held on 7 July 2023 from 5pm at Paya Lebar Quarter, Level 1 PLQ Plaza.

An exciting official launch on 7 July 2023 awaits with performances from various local artists such as Tay Sia Yeun, Dominic Chin, Jean Kyaw, Serene Teo, Erick Guansing, along with Yo-Yo, Street Soccer performances and Street Art Launch from 5pm to 6.30pm. The event will be hosted by Royce Lee. Special guest appearance by PRETZELLE, a popular girl group from Thailand. PRETZELLE will be performing from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

PRETZELLE is a rising star Thailand-based girl group with 4 members; Inc, Ice, Aumaim, and its youngest member, Grace. The group has experienced rapid growth in popularity, going from relative obscurity to becoming one of the top T-Pop girl groups in the sub-genre according to Chartmetric rankings in less than one year. Their songs have been played over 85 million times across all platforms, and their popularity shows no signs of slowing down. PRETZELLE’s success can be attributed to their talented members and their engaging, energetic performances. The group has a diverse range of musical influences, which they use to create a unique and captivating sound. Their dedication to their craft and their passion for music have helped to build a dedicated fanbase and establish them as a rising star in the Thai music industry.

Throughout this festival held over 4 weekends, there will be various performances from talented artistes and students from Academy of Rock. There will also be Street Soccer 1-On-1 Competition, the exciting Asia Global Belly Dancing Competition and Extravaganza Show and the SSS Fest which is a Japanese performance event featuring Japanese anime, cosplay and Japanese Pop music. Lots of excitement too on the upcoming Singapore Yoyo Championships as well as BUSK IT! which has busking style performance, and for the first time, school choirs are invited to participate in the new Choral4U segment.

About Singapore Street Festival (SSF) 

Singapore Street Festival is a non-profit social and community project. This yearly festival provides youths in Singapore with a platform and an opportunity to showcase their talents, skills and capabilities in the performing arts and visual arts.

Founded in 2002, Singapore Street Festival’s platform also allows youth to come forward to be trained in organising, including planning and execution, also in stage management skills.

Singapore Street Festival believes that the new generation of youths are experts in the digital world and are great influences to their peers. Youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are also youth leaders of today.  

SSF 2023’s theme is The NXT Generation which implies Curiosity, Creativity, Innovation, Novelty and Forward-thinking.
