Shopping Beyond Sight
This Christmas, Link’s Malls are pioneering inclusivity with a series of initiatives designed to support the visually handicapped community. In partnership with Mapxus, appointed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) under the SG Enable initiative, Link’s Malls are proud to introduce an inclusive indoor wayfinding system. Jurong Point and AMK Hub are now available on the SG Enable app – CityGeni, enabling seamless navigation for wheelchair users and the visually impaired.
Link’s Malls is proud to collaborate with Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), to support the Touch Art Programme, which was introduced to the visually impaired clients to equip them with skills to produce handicraft items. Through this initiative, SAVH visually impaired clients can showcase their talents and create employment opportunities.
Shoppers may visit the art showcase at Jurong Point Level 3 link bridge (near Kopitiam) to view the artworks created by talented visually impaired clients. Art pieces are available for purchase via the L Privileges App. In addition, handcrafted creations such as Christmas gift cards, tote bags, pouches, and cute towels made by visually impaired clients will be available at the vending machines located at Jurong Point and AMK Hub, allowing shoppers to conveniently support the cause by purchasing the items on the L Privileges App.
Adding to the festive spirit, shoppers are invited to “make a wish” by tossing game tokens into the Wishing Well during the one-week event at Jurong Point and AMK Hub.
