Science Centre Singapore will host the world premiere of One Ocean: Every Action Ripples from 30 May 2026, marking the global debut of this immersive exhibition that transforms two decades of Tara Ocean Foundation’s Ocean research into a multi-sensory public experience.
Presented in partnership with the Tara Ocean Foundation, a pioneering nonprofit organisation dedicated to oceanographic research and Ocean protection. Produced by Ride FX, One Ocean: Every Action Ripples brings together ocean research, immersive technology and storytelling across 10 zones. Visitors will experience 360-degree projections, free-roaming virtual reality, spatial soundscapes, interactive installations and research-led exhibits that reveal the ocean as one connected system.
At the heart of the exhibition is a powerful idea: the Ocean is unique and connects us all. It is the cradle of life on Earth, shapes the air we breathe, and influences the climate we live in. Through this experience, visitors will discover how individual and collective actions can have ripples across marine environments, from microscopic plankton to global Ocean currents or coral reefs.
Exhibition highlights include:
Tara Polar Station: A Window into Arctic Research
Visitors will encounter a replica of Tara Polar Station, presented publicly as part of the exhibition experience. This drifting observatory and laboratory have been designed for studying the Arctic environment during ten consecutive expeditions. The replica offers a rare look into how scientists’ study one of the world’s most remote and extreme environments. Guests will discover, through previously unseen images, living conditions and scientific programmes used to study changes in the polar region. The exhibit will also introduce visitors to the station’s innovative design, including its distinctive geode structure and moonpool gateway to the Arctic Ocean.
7 Wonders of the Ocean in 360° Splendour
A key centrepiece of the exhibition is a spectacular 360-degree projection that will take visitors beneath the waves into some of the ocean’s remarkable environments.
The experience features the 7 Wonders of the Ocean, including the mysterious abyss, whale migration, the Great Barrier Reef, the nudibranchs, ice floes, bioluminescent marine life and the raw power of the ocean. Through large-scale visuals and immersive storytelling, visitors will encounter Ocean life, from planktons to powerful currents.
Multi-Sensory Ocean Exploration
Experience the evocative power of the sea, where the ocean comes alive through sound at “Symphonies of the Ocean” featuring the ocean’s voices, mixing authentic sounds recorded both above and beneath the waves to understand how marine environments communicate and respond to change.
In “Legends of the Ocean”, visitors can explore how the sea has shaped human imagination across cultures, from mythical creatures to familiar icons and stories that continue to influence how people understand the ocean.
Local Marine Heritage: Tides of the Red Dot
To connect the global story to Singapore, the exhibition features “Tides of the Red Dot,” a dedicated section on Singapore’s own marine environment.
This section explores local marine life, environmental challenges, and conservation efforts, for visitors to understand how ocean science connects to Singapore’s maritime identity and the waters around us.
Secrets of the Blue: VR Experience*
For visitors seeking a deeper dive into ocean science can opt for Secrets of the Blue: virtual reality experience as a premium add-on. This immersive VR journey will allow them to discover marine ecosystems that play a role in the global carbon cycle by capturing and storing carbon from the atmosphere, exploring plankton communities, kelp forests, seagrass meadows, mangroves, and tidal marshes while understanding the ocean’s crucial role in climate regulation.
