Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary has unveiled its festive program for 2026. The Christmas and New Year celebrations in the Himalayas are included in the room rate for in-house guests.

Set on pine-covered slopes in Paro’s Neyphu Valley, 20 minutes from Bhutan’s only international airport, the intimate wellness retreat is designed in the style of the kingdom’s fortress-monasteries.
Christmas Eve, 24 December
The Sanctuary’s culinary team will serve an indulgent eight-course degustation menu. Red and white house wines, mulled wine and local beers are complimentary. Light Bhutanese cultural entertainment will accompany dinner, and the evening closes with homemade Christmas cookies and locally made gifts.
New Year’s Eve, 31 December
Celebrations begin mid-afternoon with a screening of the Oscar-nominated Bhutanese film Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom. Before dinner, guests gather for a special cocktail around the fire pit on the restaurant terrace. An eight-course degustation dinner follows, with complimentary house wines and local beers, and light Bhutanese cultural entertainment. A Bhutanese fortune teller will share thoughts and predictions for 2027.
A spiritual reset for 2027
Beyond the special celebrations, all stays at the Sanctuary are wellness inclusive, starting with a personal consultation with a Traditional Medicine Doctor, then moving to daily wellness treatments, yoga classes, and meditation sessions. For travellers seeking a fresh start, a stay at the Sanctuary is a meaningful way to begin the year.
‘In Bhutan, we measure success by happiness. Our festive season invites guests to slow down, reconnect, and step into 2027 with clarity and calm.’ Louk Lennaerts, CEO and Founder, Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary.
