Christmas Wonderland, Singapore’s most popular year-end event, returns at Gardens by the Bay with new highlights that is set to excite visitors of all ages! Happening from 29 November to 26 December 2019, its sixth edition will see Gardens by the Bay come alive with beautiful illuminations and exciting activities that are guaranteed to put a happy spell on visitors.
One of the highlights not to be missed this year is the inaugural Christmas Parade, where your favourite festive characters will be roving on three different floats to spread festive cheer throughout the fairground. Visitors will also get to interact with the characters as they make several stops throughout their journey. Visitors will also be transported to the North Pole with the new Santa’s Workshop. Step into the forest and ‘snow’-filled giant snow globe and witness animatronic elves wrapping presents and fulfilling wishes, before meeting Father Christmas for the perfect family picture.
Visitors will get to witness a dazzling display of over 40 majestic luminarie light sculptures, including Asia’s tallest luminarie Christmas tree and a 21-metre tall Spalliera. Inspired by the iconic towers of the San Gimignano a hill town in Tuscany, the Spalliera’s three towers and the connecting roof will excite visitors with the splendour of the light display from a three-dimensional perspective.
Complete your Christmas celebration with exciting performances for the whole family. This year’s performance venue and show line-up have been enhanced this year with the larger Meadow Theatre presenting four theatrical productions for all visitors of all ages – circus performers from Australia Trash Test Dummies, smash-hit London production Snow Play, an adaptation of The Old Shoemaker by local collective Five Stones Theatre and acclaimed illusionist Vitaly Beckman with Pure Wonder.
Making a comeback this year is Yuletide Sessions and Christmas Caroling under the Cassa Armonica gazebo, right in the heart of the Spalliera with performances by Inch Chua, Jana Ann & Joy Alexis, NTU Alumni Choir, EVOKX and more. Visitors can also sing along to your favourite tunes with the Garden Rhapsody – The Christmas Special light and sound show. Be sure to also catch Blizzard Time presented by Häagen-Dazs™ and indulge in festive delights and shop for gifts at the Christmas Village featuring 24 charming European-style wooden huts. More excitement for kids and adults await with 18 traditional carnival games and rides throughout the fairground.
