Professional Beauty Services at Your Home or Office

For many working professionals and parents today, particularly mothers, every day is a balancing act. Between demanding careers, caring for children, managing household responsibilities and juggling countless daily commitments, finding time for personal care often becomes a challenge. While self-care is widely recognised as an important part of maintaining both physical and emotional well-being, setting aside time to travel to a beauty salon can sometimes feel like another task on an already full schedule.

As lifestyles continue to evolve, consumers are increasingly looking for services that fit seamlessly into their daily routines. Convenience, flexibility and personalised experiences have become important considerations, particularly for those balancing busy work and family lives.

Recognising this growing demand, Perky Lash has introduced an islandwide house-visit service that brings selected professional lash and nail treatments directly to customers at their homes or offices. The initiative offers clients greater flexibility while maintaining the professional standards, hygiene and personalised care that the brand is known for.

Founded by Jasmin Tay, Perky Lash has built its reputation around a strict no-package and no hard-selling policy, providing customers with a transparent and comfortable beauty experience. The brand also says it is Singapore’s first lash salon to develop its own in-house biodegradable lashes, designed to naturally break down within 180 days as part of its commitment to sustainability.

Rather than replacing the traditional salon experience, the home-visit service provides an additional option for customers whose schedules may not always allow time to travel. Whether it is a busy professional working from home, someone looking to fit a beauty appointment between meetings, or a parent caring for young children, the service offers greater convenience without compromising on quality.

The house-visit service will offer a curated range of Perky Lash’s signature treatments, including:

  • Lash Services:

  • Classic Nude ($158)

  • UltraLite ($178)

  • Bio Lash ($188)

  • Collagen Lash Lift with Keratin Tint ($128)

Polkadots Nail Arts and Ombre Nail Arts by Perky Lash

  • Nail Services:

  • Classic Gel Manicure ($128)

  • Classic Gel Pedicure ($138)

  • Gel Extensions ($178, full set)

With more Singaporeans placing greater emphasis on well-being while navigating increasingly demanding lifestyles, accessible beauty services are becoming more relevant than ever. The ability to receive professional treatments in a familiar environment allows customers to enjoy quality self-care while making better use of their valuable time.

To gain deeper insights into the evolving beauty landscape, we spoke with Jasmin Tay, Founder of Perky Lash, about the growing demand for at-home beauty services, changing consumer expectations, balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood, sustainability, and how convenience is shaping the future of beauty.

Interview with Jasmin Tay, Founder of Perky Lash

1. Perky Lash recently launched an islandwide house-visit service for lash and nail treatments. What inspired this move, and what consumer trends are you seeing that suggest there is growing demand for at-home beauty services in Singapore?

Jasmin Tay: As a founder and a mother myself, the inspiration came from observing how much the lives of women have changed. Many of our customers are juggling careers, children, ageing parents and household responsibilities, and finding two to three hours to travel to a salon has become increasingly difficult. We asked ourselves a simple question: Why should self-care be another thing women have to sacrifice?

We’re also seeing a broader shift in consumer expectations. People today increasingly value services that fit around their schedules instead of requiring them to plan their day around appointments. Whether it’s working from home, the growth of on-demand services, or simply wanting more time with family, consumers are placing a premium on convenience and personalised experiences. The beauty industry is evolving in the same direction, with increasing demand for home-based and mobile beauty services alongside traditional salons.

2. Many Singaporeans today are juggling demanding careers, family responsibilities, and increasingly packed schedules. How have customer expectations evolved over the years when it comes to beauty and self-care services?

Jasmin Tay: Over the years, we’ve seen a significant shift in what customers value. In the past, beauty services were often viewed as an occasional indulgence. Today, they’re increasingly seen as part of a regular self-care routine that supports confidence and overall well-being. At the same time, customers are busier than ever, so they’re looking for experiences that are not only high quality but also convenient, reliable and respectful of their time.

We also find that customers today are much more informed. They do their research, read reviews, compare service standards and ask more questions about hygiene, product quality and the beauty professionals experience. They’re no longer just choosing the cheapest option—they’re choosing brands they can trust to deliver consistent results safely and transparently.

At Perky Lash, these changing expectations have reinforced our belief that beauty should be both accessible and stress-free. Whether a customer visits one of our salons or chooses our home-visit service, our goal is to provide the same professional standards, consistent quality and personalised care. We believe self-care shouldn’t feel like another chore—it should be something that restores confidence and gives women back a little time for themselves.

3. Hybrid work arrangements have become increasingly common in recent years. How has this shift influenced the way consumers approach beauty appointments, and how is Perky Lash adapting to these changing needs?

Jasmin Tay: Hybrid work has fundamentally changed how many people manage their time. Instead of commuting to the office every day, many now have greater flexibility in their schedules. At the same time, the boundaries between work and personal life have become more blurred, so people are looking for ways to fit self-care into their day without sacrificing productivity or family time.

We’ve noticed that customers are becoming much more intentional about how they spend their time. Rather than setting aside half a day to travel to a salon, they’re looking for solutions that are efficient and fit naturally into their routines. Some book appointments during a lunch break while working from home or office, between meetings, after putting their children down for a nap, or before heading out for an evening event. Convenience has become just as important as the quality of the service itself.

Looking ahead, we believe consumers won’t simply choose between a salon or a home service—they’ll expect brands to offer both. Different occasions call for different solutions. Sometimes customers enjoy visiting a salon to relax, while at other times they simply need a trusted professional to come to them. Our role is to provide that flexibility without compromising on quality, safety or the overall customer experience.

4. One concern some consumers may have about mobile beauty services is whether the experience can match the quality and hygiene standards of a salon. How does Perky Lash ensure clients receive the same level of professionalism, comfort, and safety during house visits?

Jasmin Tay: We completely understand that concern because we asked ourselves the same question before launching our home-visit service. From the very beginning, our goal was never to offer a “simplified” version of the salon experience. Our goal was to bring the salon experience into our customers’ homes.

Every home-visit appointment follows the same service protocols as our outlets. Our technicians undergo the same professional training and regular skills assessments, and they use the same premium products and equipment that we use in our salons. We have also developed detailed operating procedures specifically for home visits to ensure consistency, professionalism and safety.

Hygiene is one of our highest priorities. We use fresh disposable bed sheets and consumables for every customer, sanitise all reusable tools before and after each appointment, and maintain strict hygiene practices throughout the service. Our technicians are trained to prepare a clean, organised workspace in the customer’s home before beginning any treatment.

Quality is equally important. Whether a customer visits one of our outlets or books a home appointment, we don’t compromise on our consultation process, treatment standards or aftercare advice. Every service begins with understanding the customer’s lifestyle, preferences and eye condition so we can recommend the most suitable treatment, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Ultimately, our customers are placing their trust in us, and we take that responsibility seriously. We want them to feel confident that choosing a home visit doesn’t mean compromising on quality—it simply means enjoying the same professional experience with greater convenience.

5. Perky Lash is known for being Singapore’s first lash salon to develop its own biodegradable lashes. What motivated you to pursue this innovation, and how important do you think sustainability will be in shaping the future of the beauty industry?

Jasmin Tay: Our journey into biodegradable lashes started with a simple question: Can we create beautiful results while being more mindful of our environmental impact?

As we grew, we became increasingly aware of the amount of single-use materials generated in the beauty industry. Lash extensions are an essential part of our service, but traditionally they are made from synthetic materials that can remain in the environment for a very long time after disposal. We felt that if we had the opportunity to innovate, we also had a responsibility to explore more sustainable alternatives.

For us, sustainability isn’t about following a trend or making bold marketing claims. It’s about making thoughtful improvements where we can. Alongside developing biodegradable lashes, we also adopt practices such as producing based on demand to reduce excess inventory and unnecessary waste, and we continuously review our operations to identify more sustainable ways of working.

Looking ahead, I believe sustainability will become an increasingly important consideration in the beauty industry, but consumers will expect it to go hand in hand with quality and performance. People don’t want to choose between an effective product and a sustainable one—they want both. Brands that can successfully deliver on both will be in a much stronger position for the future.

6. As both an entrepreneur and a mother of two, you understand firsthand the challenges of balancing work and family commitments. How do you personally manage these responsibilities, and what has been the most important lesson you’ve learned about achieving balance?

Jasmin Tay: I don’t think there’s such a thing as perfect work-life balance. For me, it’s more about being intentional with my time and accepting that priorities will shift depending on the season of life or the needs of the business and my family.

As a business owner, there are periods when work demands more of me, especially during new launches or expansion. At the same time, I make a conscious effort to be present during the moments that matter most with my children. I’ve learned that quality of time is often more meaningful than the quantity of time. When I’m with my family, I try to be fully present instead of constantly thinking about work.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a mother is that sometimes the greatest gift we can give our children is the opportunity to become independent. Recently, my daughter went on her first overseas school trip without us. Like many parents, I was worried, but instead of doing everything for her, I encouraged her to pack her own luggage, prepare for the journey and understand the responsibilities that came with travelling independently. It reminded me that our role as parents isn’t to remove every challenge, but to equip our children with the confidence to navigate them.

That lesson has also influenced how I lead my business. Whether it’s raising children or leading a team, trust is essential. You have to empower people, give them opportunities to grow and accept that they will learn through experience.

7. Many working mothers are often expected to wear multiple hats at home and at work. What strategies or habits have helped you stay organised, manage competing priorities, and avoid burnout?

Jasmin Tay: I don’t think anyone can do it all alone, and I’ve learned that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a necessity. One of the biggest shifts in my mindset was moving away from trying to be everything to everyone, to focusing on what truly matters each day.

One habit that has helped me tremendously is planning my calendar in advance. Every beginning of the month, I review my calendar and identify my top priorities for both work and family. I know there will always be unexpected situations, but having a clear plan helps me stay focused instead of constantly reacting to whatever comes up.

I’ve also learned the importance of building a team I can trust. In the early years of my business, I felt I had to be involved in every decision. Over time, I realised that empowering my team, giving them ownership and trusting them to make decisions not only helped the business grow but also gave me the space to be more present with my family.

Another habit I’ve developed is making time for myself without feeling guilty. I enjoy exercising and journaling because they help me clear my mind and recharge. As mothers, we often put everyone else’s needs before our own, but I’ve realised that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish—it’s what allows us to take better care of our families and our teams.

8. Studies show that mothers often carry a significant share of the household’s mental load. In your view, why is self-care important, and how can busy women prioritise their own well-being without feeling guilty?

Jasmin Tay: I think many mothers can relate to the feeling that there’s always something else to do. Even when we’re not physically doing a task, we’re often thinking about the next one—our children’s schedules, work deadlines, groceries, appointments, or caring for our families. That invisible mental load can be just as exhausting as the physical responsibilities.

I’ve come to see self-care not as a luxury, but as maintenance. Just as we charge our phones so they can keep functioning, we also need to recharge ourselves. Self-care doesn’t always have to mean spending hours at a spa. Sometimes it’s a workout that clears your mind, a quiet cup of coffee before the house wakes up, journaling, reading a book, or even setting aside time for a beauty treatment that helps you feel refreshed and confident.

At Perky Lash, that’s one of the reasons we introduced our home-visit service. We know that for many women, especially mothers, the biggest barrier to self-care isn’t a lack of desire—it’s a lack of time. By bringing professional beauty services into their homes, we hope to remove some of that friction and make it easier for women to prioritise themselves without having to sacrifice precious family time.

9. As a beauty entrepreneur, what are your top beauty and skincare tips for busy working professionals and mothers who may have limited time each day but still want to look and feel their best?

Jasmin Tay: As someone who runs a beauty business and is also a mother of two, I’ve learned that looking after yourself doesn’t have to involve an elaborate routine. It’s about finding simple habits that help you feel confident and refreshed, even on your busiest days.

Secondly, don’t underestimate the importance of a consistent skincare routine. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Cleanse, moisturise and apply sunscreen every day. A simple routine that you stick to consistently is often more effective than a complicated one that you only manage once in a while.

I also believe beauty starts from within. Getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, exercising regularly and managing stress all have a visible impact on your skin and overall well-being. These are often overlooked, but they’re some of the best beauty investments you can make.

10. Looking ahead, how do you see the beauty industry evolving over the next few years, and what role do you envision Perky Lash playing in meeting the changing needs of modern consumers?

Jasmin Tay: I believe the beauty industry will continue to become more personalised, more convenient and more purpose-driven.

Consumers today have more choices than ever before, so they’re looking beyond just the end result. They care about the entire experience—whether a brand understands their lifestyle, respects their time, delivers consistent quality and operates responsibly. Beauty is no longer just about looking good; it’s about feeling confident, saving time and fitting seamlessly into everyday life.

At the same time, I think we’ll see greater demand for flexibility. Customers won’t expect one way of receiving beauty services—they’ll want options that suit different stages of life. Some days they’ll enjoy visiting a salon for a relaxing experience, while on other days they’ll prefer the convenience of a professional home visit. The brands that succeed will be those that can deliver the same high standards across every touchpoint.

Looking ahead, we want Perky Lash to be more than just a beauty service provider. We want to be a trusted beauty partner that grows alongside our customers through different seasons of their lives. Whether she’s a student, a working professional, a new mother or an entrepreneur, our goal is to make self-care more accessible, more convenient and more empowering.

Ultimately, our vision is simple: to help women feel confident without adding stress to their lives. Every innovation we introduce should answer one question: “Does this genuinely make our customers’ lives better?” If the answer is yes, then we know we’re moving in the right direction.

Our Review:

As part of this feature, we had the opportunity to experience Perky Lash’s islandwide home service by trying its Classic Gel Manicure and Classic Gel Pedicure in the comfort of our own home.

From the moment the appointment was confirmed, the booking process was smooth and straightforward. On the day of our appointment, the nail technicians, Jane and Tracy arrived punctually with all the necessary equipment and products professionally packed and well organised. There was no need for us to prepare anything beforehand, making the entire experience effortless from start to finish.

Before the treatments began, the technicians efficiently prepared a clean and organised workspace, demonstrating professionalism and excellent attention to hygiene. Throughout the appointment, they were warm, friendly and attentive, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere while ensuring every step of the manicure and pedicure was carried out with care.

Our Classic Gel Manicure and Classic Gel Pedicure were completed meticulously, with close attention paid to nail preparation, shaping and the overall finish. Although the treatments took place in our home, the experience felt every bit as professional as visiting a beauty salon. Nothing felt rushed, and the technician’s workmanship reflected the high standards that Perky Lash strives to maintain.

We were also impressed by how efficiently the entire appointment was managed. From setting up the workspace to completing both treatments, everything was organised seamlessly, allowing us to enjoy a salon-quality experience without spending additional time travelling or waiting for an appointment.

At the end of the session, the technicians thoroughly cleaned and packed up the workspace before leaving, ensuring everything was left neat and tidy. This thoughtful attention to detail further demonstrated the professionalism and care that went into the overall experience.

Overall, we were very pleased with the service.
