Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) is targeting to raise S$2 million in monetary and in-kind contributions, including a $700,000 fundraising target for the President’s Challenge, through its inaugural RWS Cares Festival, an annual community festival to promote social inclusion and environmental sustainability.
The festival, set to be graced by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will take place from 22 to 23 August. This is anchored by the ‘Steps of Hope’ walkathon—a 1.4km route through some of RWS’ most iconic attractions in a show of inclusivity and the Green Living Fair—featuring eco-friendly products, hands-on workshops, and performances by artists of all abilities.
The first of a three-year commitment with the President’s Challenge, proceeds from the walkathon will go directly to the President’s Challenge, benefiting organisations including Autism Resource Centre (Singapore), TomoWork and MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund.
Beyond the event, the RWS Cares Festival supports RWS’ broader ambition to build a sustained community engagement platform aligned with its long-term sustainability goals. As Ms Loh Su Kim, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, Resorts World Sentosa, shares, “RWS Cares Festival lays the foundation for a long-term platform that will continue to deepen its impact through sustained partnerships with the community.”
Early bird tickets for the Steps of Hope walkathon are available now until 31 July at S$80/adult and S$70/child and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/rwscaressoh. More information on RWS Cares Festival can be found at https://www.rwsentosa.com/en/events/rws-cares-festival.
